Christmas on Gloucester Road

There are so many brilliant things happening on Gloucester Road this Christmas….

For the first time in over 10 years, we have Christmas street lights, as well as plenty of gorgeous lit up trees, perfect for setting the atmosphere for Christmas shopping!

And this year, the shops are really going to town on their Christmassy window displays, as there is a big competition between the traders this year for the best window display! Judging will be from 19^th November to 12^th December, so there will be a lot of gorgeous window displays to view and make everything extra festive over the next few days!

We’ll also have late night shopping every Thursday from 19^th of November until the week before Christmas. There will be The City of Bristol Brass Band, carol singers, hot chestnuts, mulled wine and a great opportunity to explore the great shops on Gloucester road while getting in the Christmassy mood (and some of that shopping out of the way!). Shops will stay open until around 7.00 or 8.00pm on late night shopping evenings, giving you plenty of time to enjoy after work!

There are also plenty of fantastic chances to win great prizes along Gloucester Road this festive season, with three different competitions to enter!

• Traders will be running a free prize draw open to all Gloucester Road customers and will launch on 19th. Entry forms will be available in selected shops from 19^th Nov to 15^th Dec. To enter, simply fill in your details and hand in to a member of staff in the stores, we are supporting the Julian Trust Night Shelter and the Food Bank this year, so a donation of a £1 is being suggested. 3 winners will be drawn on 16^th Dec and they will be able to collect their vouchers on 17^th December. There are some fantastic prizes to be won, including Cider Tasting, vouchers to spend in many of the different outlets on the Gloucester Road. A List of shops you can visit in order to enter the draw can be found on our blog once confirmed and will be shared across social media! 
• The Co-Op on Gloucester Road are running a Kids poster competition – also free to enter but a suggested entry donation of £1 to go to the British red cross, with 3 prizes up for grabs (1 for each age group).
• There will also be an Advent Photo Contest, with prizes available every day from 1^st Dec to 24^th Dec. Full details of this to follow soon, once they have been finalised!
