This week, we've been interviewing Sarah from 'The Library', based on Cheltenham Road at the bottom of Gloucester Road.....
How long has your business been trading on Gloucester Road?
We have been trading for a over year now, our first birthday party was on Saturday 15th August!
What made you choose Gloucester Road for opening your business?
We thought that there was a gap in the market for a
wine bar on the Gloucester/Cheltenham road which served a wide
selection of wines from around the world. Somewhere where you could also
come to learn about wine as well - hence the name The Library.
What have been the highlights for you since opening your business?
The biggest highlight so far has been winning 'Best Wine List' at the Bristol Good Food Awards this Summer.
What kinds of products/services does your business offer?
We offer a wide selection of wines, as well as a
small selection of high quality beers and spirits. We offer
cheese and charcuterie boards to accompany the wines, but recently launched
our tapas menu which is going down really well so far!
Is there anything your business does that people might not be aware of?
We offer private and corporate wine tastings in the
bar or at a venue of your choice. Tastings start from just £20pp and
offer a relaxed and fun evening learning about wines.
What do you like most about Gloucester Road?
Everyone knows each other and everyone has been incredibly supportive since we opened.
You can visit The Library at 208 Cheltenham Road, BS6 5QU
