5 minutes with Flo-Jo Boutique

This week we've spent a little time getting to know Erika from the fabulous Vintage Haberdashery Flo-Jo Boutique.

How long has your business been trading on Gloucester Road?

The shop has been on the Gloucester Rd for 3 years but we have been trading as Flo-Jo for over 10 years, making and sewing clothes and running sewing parties.

What made you choose Gloucester Road for opening your business?

The Gloucester Road is a perfect location for us, as it embraces independents and individuality, which everything that Flo-Jo stands for. The Gloucester Rd is part of a community and we aim to provide a community service not only selling fabric and haberdashery but running courses and children's after school sewing clubs.

What have been the highlights for you since opening your business?
One of the highlights has been seeing our teenage sewing group turning into a talented group of dressmakers, full of creative ideas and a passion for sewing.

What kinds of products/services does your business offer?

We offer a large range of high quality dressmaking and quilting fabric, including Liberty tana lawn cottons. We also stock craft kits and haberdashery. We offer a repairs and alterations service, run a range of weekend and evening classes in sewing, host sewing parties for adults and children and run three popular after school sewing clubs. Pretty busy!

Is there anything your business does that people might not be aware of?

We hire out gorgeous wedding bunting at a very competitive price.

Which other businesses do you use along Gloucester Road?

We use most of the businesses on the Gloucester Road as they offer everything you need!

What do you like most about Gloucester Road?
The diversity of shops and the helpfulness of the shop keepers.

Want to know more? Why not take a look at their website, or follow them on facebook?

They also have a great little blog, perfect for sewing bees!
