One of those rare gems of Gloucester Road that not enough people know about, Life and Soul Empowerment has plenty going on that you might not know! So we spent a little time with Dawn Clode to find out more....
How long has your business been trading on Gloucester Road?
I moved to the Gloucester Road on 1st August 2011 and was
temporarily housed in Besley Hill Estate Agents for 7 months while we
negotiated the lease on our current shop and refurbished it, finally opening on
24th February 2012; it was interesting combining Holistic therapies
and buying houses though!
What made you choose Gloucester Road for opening your business?
Honestly my business partner had previously been on the Road for over
30 years and wanted to move back after an absence due to a family illness of
about 3 years, I had no ties but really liked the feel and vibe of the
Gloucester Road so went about finding the best place for us to be!
What have been the highlights for you since opening your business?
Making great relationships with the other traders, finding that my
patients have a love/hate relationship with my location, love where it is wish
it was easier to park! I love being here
and love contributing to the community I’m in.
What kinds of products/services does your business offer?
I’m holistic health clinic, so if you have a pain, emotional or
physical I should be able to help!
Is there anything your business does that people might not be aware of?
Loads I expect, because what you see is the hairdressers (which is my
business partners business) and not my clinic from the street most people are
unaware I’m there (there is a sign on the shop front but I think most people
just see the shop interior). So I get a
lot of people say oh I didn’t know this was here, oh can you really help with
that!
One of the big things I do is a self-esteem programme that really helps
people rebuild confidence and improve all areas of their lives.
Which business do you use yourself on Gloucester Road?
I use the fruit and veg shop next door (Gloucester Road Fruit and Veg),
Scoopaway, Roxfords Pets shop, Co-Op, Olive Shed, Bread Store, Barclays Bank,
Murrys butchers, The Fish shop, I love my pc, The hardware shop
What do you like most about Gloucester Road?
Its diversity and the fact you can get almost everything you need
there! The people are friendly and
helpful.
